This course deals with key reactions and concepts of organic chemistry on an advanced level. It will further teach the logic behind organic transformations and the rationalisation of reaction mechanisms and stereochemical outcomes. Important reaction classes such as radical reactions, carbonyl and enolate transformations, pericyclic reactions, addition and coupling reactions, and asymmetric transformations will be discussed. In the laboratory, advanced techniques, performing reactions under inert conditions, and multistep reactions will be taught, for example.
