150 credits in biomedicine, pharmaceutical science, drug discovery and development, natural science, and/or technology. Prior studies should include organic chemistry and/or medicinal chemistry, 25 credits. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
The course provides a deep understanding of organic pharmaceutical chemistry. The course material covers the theoretical principles behind organic reactions and their practical applicability, strongly focusing on medicinal chemical applications. After completing the course you should be able to plan and evaluate the synthesis of complex drugs and drug-like molecules.
