The course gives an introduction to theory and methods for the automation of laboratory protocols, mainly in a biology-related laboratory environment. The course gives an overview of different types of automation within bioscience, instruments, robots and associated biological applications with practical exercises using automated equipment such as pipetting robots and automated microscopy.
