The course deepens the understanding of forces driving and resisting technological change. It also studies their impacts on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new technologies and business models in industrial organisations. A particular emphasis is placed on technological change's ethical and political aspects. The course also contemplates critical aspects of technological transformation, including reflection on technological capitalism and the future of human labour. The course will cover topics such as: digital transformations automation in the workplace the robotisation of work-related processes the professionalisation of digital work implementation of AI technologies the servitisation of complex technological products industrial transition/transformation towards more sustainable technologies.
