30 credits within Engineering Programme, including Algebra and Vector Geometry. Participation in Calculus for Engineers.
The course provides an introduction to central concepts in computer engineering and provides a good basis for further studies in the field. We begin with training in the binary number system, including basic arithmetic and logical operations on binary numbers. We then continue with an overview of how a computer works as well as the function of the microprocessor and different types of programming languages and operating systems. Towards the end of the course, we work with different methods for interpreting and modelling algorithms as well as strategies for problem-solving and basic programming.
