60 credits in science/engineering including a basic course in electromagnetism or solid state physics.
This course describes key mechanisms controlling plasma reactive processes and properties of process products. The course provides insight into industrial and environmental plasma applications, also for cold plasma at atmospheric pressure, and the criteria for plasma-assisted processes. Relationships between plasma parameters and properties of the treated surface and/or material are explained. Individual types of plasma reactors for material and coating technology, in nanobio applications and environmental technology are described. The course is read intensively in weeks 24-26 in June and week 33 in August, with a break in between, including one-week self-study.
