Degree at the basic level corresponding to at least 180 credits, including 75 credits within chemistry, physics, materials science and/or engineering, including 30 credits in chemistry. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
The course provides a foundation for further studies on battery materials. This includes fundamentals regarding the solid state, material categories, how the structure of solids can be determined and described through the use of crystallography and the connection between chemical structure/bonding and materials properties. The materials covered include metals, ceramics as well as polymers and the emphasis is on materials relevant to primarily Li-ion batteries.
