The course will give a deeper understanding of how to design, control and test batteries to ensure safety during use. This includes reasons for battery failure and their influence on safety and management, BMS systems to limit battery use to within specifications, sensoring and real-time diagnostics to monitor battery performance, state-of-charge and state-of-health, development of materials and cells for improved safety, testing protocols for the safety of commercial batteries, and standards and regulations for battery safety and testing.
