120 credits with 60 credits in chemistry including 20 credits in organic chemistry. 10 credits at Master's level. Participation in Spectroscopic methods for organic chemistry, from which 2 credits must have been completed, or participation in NMR spectroscopy, from which 2 credits must have been completed. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
The course focuses on topics in organic chemistry related to the identification of synthetic routes towards specific target molecules resembling medicinal compounds or intermediates of industrial interest, planning, conduction, evaluation, and documentation of multistep syntheses. Enantioselective synthesis involving chiral substrates and reagents. Asymmetric catalysis using organometallic reactions or enzymes.
