60 credits in science/engineering and parcipitation in a 5 credits course in materials science or materials chemistry.
The course provides a fundamental understanding of the structure, composition, and properties of polymers. It covers how molecular weight, polymerization, and cross-linking methods influence the behavior of polymeric materials. The relationship between structure, morphology, and material properties is emphasized, as well as industrial applications of polymers. The course also addresses material and process selection in the manufacturing of polymer products. In addition, it includes practical laboratory work in polymer synthesis and polymer characterization.
