A Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or social sciences. Also required is participation in Wind Power Development and Management, 15 credits. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
The course covers the theory and application of spatial planning for wind energy development and wind power projects. Local, regional and national regulations and permits are studied. The importance of good communication and acceptance among all stakeholders is practised in role play. Financial incentives and environmental considerations are evaluated for their potential effects on planning and on-schedule project execution. A role-play of a consultation meeting for a proposed wind farm will be enacted as well as an evaluation of social relevance and ethical considerations for wind power development.
