During the course, you will learn about important experimental and theoretical methods for studying the electronic structure of functional materials. Functional materials cover a wide range of organic and inorganic materials that have functionality for energy storage, artificial photosynthesis, nanoscience, catalysis, high-temperature superconductivity, magnetoresistance etcetera. We offer a combined approach of introducing experimental and theoretical methods that the department is specialised in photoemission spectroscopy, x-ray emission spectroscopy, density functional theory calculations etcetera.
