120 credits in science/engineering, of which at least 15 credits in electrical engineering. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
This course covers different aspects of design of electric motors for all-electric propulsion systems. Among other things, the design of permanent magnet synchronous motors; magnetic and magnetically coupled circuits; principles of electromechanical energy conversion; and basic principles of motor control, including start up and change of direction of rotation are treated in the course. A large part of the course consists of motor design and analysis through computer-aided simulations.
