Completed courses of 150 credits including (1) 60 credits in biology and 30 credits in chemistry or 30 credits in earth sciences, or (2) 90 credits in biology. In both cases including either Fundamental and Molecular Systematics 10 credits or participation in Evolutionary Patterns 15 credits and 3 credits in faunistics.Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
The world of invertebrates is inhabited by many strange and interesting creatures, and particularly in the marine environment, you encounter alien and fascinating life forms. This course will open this (to most people) unknown environment for you, and give you the tools and skills to identify those invertebrates you encounter, e.g., when doing a biological survey. The teaching is partly based on e-learning, and partly on a one-week practical field work at Klubban Biological Station in Fiskebäckskil on the west coast of Sweden. For 2027, the field part is planned for 25 April-2 May.
