Completed courses of 150 credits including 60 credits in biology and 30 credits in chemistry and participation in the advanced course Microbiology 15 credits, of which at least 5 credits completed, or participation in the advanced course Immunology 15 credits. Proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English 6.
The course gives you basic knowledge about molecular infectious biology and it will improve your ability to solve and analyse problems related to infectious diseases. After the course, you will understand how microbes interact with the host and how anti-microbial drugs affect them. You will also get practical training in experimental infectious biology. Finally, you will be able to combine all your theoretical knowledge from other basic courses and use it in something more applied like molecular infectious biology.
